Monday Musings and Grocery Shopping

Not much happen over the weekend that was worth writing about. We are all still sick, and some of us are suffering through some upset tummy stuff. Let’s just say I didn’t know that so much poop could come out of such a little body…. fortunately we made it out for groceries first!

I’m getting to know all the different vendors in my neighborhood, and I have noticed that I’m starting to have my favorites. I’m still in awe of the affordability of good food here, and I love being able to get everything I need within a ten minute walk. It’s the exact apposite of a food desert, it’s a food oasis!

Today I spent 70dh and along with staples I have in the house that will feed us for two or more days. For my 70dh I got the following:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 long baguette
  • 6 of the best little cookies
  • A fist sized bag of olives
  • 2 bunches of mint
  • 1 eggplant
  • 2 onions
  • 5 potatos
  • 3 carrots
  • 6 yogurts
  • A package of laughing cow cheese

David and I have a goal of living on 300dh a day in order to support our travel goals, and while we have spent some extra getting settled in I think this is highly achievable on a regular daily basis. We want to spend our money on experiences and fun family adventures!

In case anyone is wondering, yes my house still smells. 😖 I’m counting down the days!
