As I’ve talked about before, most of my grocery shopping happens locally in my neighborhood and this father son duo are one of my favorites. The dad exudes a grumpy I don’t care if you want to buy anything vibe (only melted by my little blond girl), and the son is such a sweetie. They are just around the corner from our apartment and cheaper than some of the other sellers closer to the main market. He always speaks slowly to me so that I can understand how much I owe him and when I get the numbers wrong and over pay he always gives me change. The selection on his cart is a little more basic, and it changes a bit from day to day, but he always has the staples like; eggplant, potatoes, carrots, onions, and tomatoes.
Yesterday’s loot included green beans, potatoes, tomatoes, and lemons. All of this for only 27 mdh! Which is about $2.70. One of the things I love about living here is how affordable and good the produce is. The stuff that’s bad for you like candy, chips, and soda is all a little pricy, and the vegetables are so affordable.
