It’s almost Thursday and I’m finally getting around to a little update about our camping trip last weekend. We are in full on spring here and the weather has been lovely, but my allergies are pretty crazy most days and I just keep forgetting to write anything!
We camped out near Ait Aadel in the Atlas Mountains. It was a bit of a drive, but totally worth it for the scenery and the company! We also weren’t actually doing the driving so that left me open to gazing out the window at all the beauty surrounding us. I took so many pictures on the way that my phone battery was almost dead by the time we arrived!
The playgrounds at the rest stops along the way were some of the best we have seen since we have been here! Ellie was too busy running around to stop for a photo op, and Patrick mastered the “fire pole” which he was super stoked about.
Pics from the car ride because it was just so beautiful! If you don’t make it out of the cities much it’s hard to realize how truly varied and stunning the landscape is. Morocco is such a beautiful country.
Quick stop at the dam to take in the views. Ellie was NOT interested in having her picture taken at all so this is as good as it gets. We were there with a whole group of people from school, but I don’t like to post pictures of kids and people who aren’t my family all over the internet so that excludes quite a few of my pictures of the kids from this trip!
Once we arrive, had lunch and organized all our stuff we headed out for a little hike to the lake. The landscape is just stunning and actually reminds me a lot of the Sierra Nevada foothills in California.
That’s where the pictures end because my phone died and I just decided to “live in the moment” as they say. Some of the local men had been hired to set up camp for us and to arrange our meals. They were all lovely guys and their kids came out to play with ours in the afternoon as well.
Ok that’s all for now! I have a few posts in the works, but nothing else totally finished right now. I’ll try to keep a better eye on this space and provide more updates, I know I’ve been a little lax on that front lately.
