Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher

I’m writing this from an armchair in a house on the Dingle Peninsula while staring at the sea. Every time a look up the mist has cleared just a little more revealing the rise and fall of the coastline, it’s just stunning. The scenery outside my window actually reminds me a lot of Doolin, but enough of my random musings and on to the main event!

We left our house in Galway mid-morning with the intention of breaking up the drive with lunch somewhere along the way. We did that and also popped into Dun Guarie Castle, since it quit literally appeared in front of us on our drive.

After our quick castle stop we got back in the car and headed for Doolin! The town itself is adorable and did not disappoint, but the hike along the Cliffs is the main attraction here. All the wow factor of the Cliffs of Moher without having to go to the crowded visitor center and pay for parking! The kids managed the hike amazingly well and we made it almost the whole way back before our first meltdown.

Ok that’s enough for today! I’m off to enjoying a nice cup of tea while reading a book and enjoying a fire in the fireplace. I know, I know, it sounds too good to be true… but it is!

  1. Great stories and pics. As my mom used to say, “Patrick has the map of Ireland on his face”. They are lucky kids to see so much at such a young age. Lots of love to you all! Lani

    • Thanks Lani! Patrick keeps telling everyone he is “totally Irish” because his name is Patrick Crawford Kelly. 😂 He also loves the weather!
