After the Cliffs of Moher we headed out to a cottage in the countryside about a half hour from Limerick. When I booked this Airbnb I had fully intended to use it as a base for day trips to the surrounding area, but the countryside right outside our door was so beautiful and relaxing that we ended up just staying in!
On our way to the Airbnb we stopped off at Craggaunowen to see the castle and explore the experience. We happened to be there during a weekend when they had a whole set of re-enactments which was pretty fun.
Other than another castle visit (are you sensing a theme yet?) we stayed close to our cottage just walking around and taking a hike.
And then on our last morning this happened 😭
Fortunately we had the nicest host who let the kids and I stay at the cottage six hours after the official check out time while David went with the car to get it replaced. In the end it all worked out and David returned with a new car, but it was sad to lose the day especially since the drive to our next stop was a longer one.
But more about that next time I have a full agenda today that mostly involves book reading, tea drinking, and starring out the picture window. 😉😉😉
